RISTORANTE AL MERCANTE 
Established in Milan from the early 50s, “Al Mercante” is located in the Medieval Piazza dei Mercanti. In 1977 the restaurant has been taken over from Corrado and Margherita Romanini and currently co-managed by their sons Claudio and Simona.
“AL Mercante” is placed into the XIIIth century ” “House of the Panigarola” former Office of the Charters . On the left, the Palace named “della Ragione” , the most prestigious of the Commons Age, built in 1228. On the other side of the square, there is the “Loggia of the Osii” entirely in black and white marbles, built in 1316 under request of Matteo Visconti, and the XIVth century Palace of the “Scuole Palatine” , whose original Roman structure was the headquater of the School were S.Augustin used to teach.
Shared in two climatized halls placed in the ground and upper floor, the style of the restaurant is warm and classic, decorated with light colors and furnitures according to the surrounding atmosphere.
The Restaurant offers to Milanese or not, the chance to taste the recipes of the Italian and Milanese tradition, adapted to the contemporary ways. In summertime a dehors covered by beach umbrellas and surrounded by plants and flowers is prepared for the customers, matching with the beauty of the old square, and achieving further amenities.
Sanitary and Environmental Policy
The staff of the restaurant is regularly trained on the topics of hygiene and safety. The suppliers are selected according to standards of respect of the current law about origin, safety, preservation of the raw materials. A guarantee of the high level of attention on these matters is the plan of corporate self-control, carried out with the HACCP system , granting cycles of external checking on personnel and areas. The working spaces and the preservation areas are submitted to regular maintenance, powered by technological high-level safety equipments, steady controls and fixed plans of cleaning and disinfection . The separation of the waste and the collection of used oils is regularly effected. |

Dal 17 marzo a Palazzo Reale un’emozionante rassegna sul grande pittore aragonese. Oltre 180 opere ricostruiscono la relazione tra Goya e altri celebri artisti degli ultimi due secoli: da Delacroix a Klee, da David a Kokoschka, da Victor Hugo a Mirò, da Klinger a Picasso, da Nolde a Bacon, da Kirchner a Pollock, da Guttuso a de Kooning.
